On November the 4th, 2005, Ryan Reynolds of the psittalinguistics committee, brought forward some ideas for determing levels of context that the budgies were speaking and the amount of time the average guardian needed to develop understanding for their recordings. It was suggested that each budgie in the group that is talking will be given a level of understanding and context. These levels will be determined by the psittalinguistics committee and are as follows:
Acording to the following criterial which level do you think that the named budgies are at when communicating to us in context. Please note that the time spent could relate to listening and analyzing budgie recordings, and listening to and trying to understand them through the recordings with or without captions, but not in real time.
Level 7:
This budgie is speaking in extreme context. Most people can understand over 90% of what the budgie is saying if they spend at least 20 hrs listening to variouis budgie recordings. Some words may be chirped out, but they are minimal.
Level 6:
This budgie is speaking in extreme context. Most people can understand over 80% of what the budgie is saying with less then 50 hrs of listening to various budgie recordings. Some words may be chirped out, but they are minimal.
Level 5:
This budgie is speaking in good context. Most people can understand over 70% of what this budgie is saying with less then 100 hrs of listening to various budgie recordings. Some words may be chirped out, but they equate to less then 25%.
Level 4:
This budgie is speaking in good context. Most people can understand more then 60% of what the budgie is saying with less then 300 hours of listening to the budgie recordings.
As much as 40% of the words may be chirped out making it difficult to understand.
Level 3:
This budgie is speaking in good context. Most people can understand more then 50% of what the budgie is saying with less then 300 hours of listening to the budgie recordings.
As much as 50% of the words may be chirped out making it difficult to understand.
Level 2:
This budgie is speaking in good context. Most people can understand more then 30% of what the budgie is saying with less then 500 hours of listening to the budgie recordings.
As much as 70% of the words may be chirped out making it difficult to understand.
Level 1:
This budgie may be speaking in context. Most people will not be able to understand much of what it is saying unless they have at least 500 hours of practice listening to the the captioned recordings. The budgie should improve as time goes on as long as it is not in a flock type envirorment
