Recording Tips
You can use the standard sound recorder that comes with your Windows operating system as it is probably the easiest to start off with.

1. Select Programs, Entertainment, Sound Recorder
2. When you select sound recorder the record button on the recorder should be red. If it isn't than you may have a problem with it and have to reinstall the recorder or reboot your computer.
3. When you start recording  60-120 second recordings the easiest to work with.
4. When you are done click the stop button on the recorder
5. The next step is the most important step. Now you have to save it in a format that is the smallest and easiest to post on your website.
6. Click ,File, save as, (you will have to choose a folder to save your file in and at the same time name the file. Do not save it yet!
7. Before you save it you have to click on the change button at the bottom to save it in the right format.
8. When you do this the sound screen will pop up.
9. Under format select "MPEG Layer3"(if you have trouble finding it, use the up arrow as it is usually above the format that is displayed automatically)
10. Under attributes select the first mono type recording. It should be "32 Kbit/s, 24,000 Hz, mono-3K/s 11. Click Okay. Then click save and name the file and put it in a folder or on your desktop.
11. The recording will now be converted to .wav format It will take a few seconds for it to convert to a .wav file.
12. When it is finished right click on the file and click properties. The file size should be about 100-150 kb for every minute of your recording. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any
13. Then you can email me the recording, or post it on the Parrot Breaders Forum in the files section.  Email me at RyanReynolds
